Flexible Support Packages (FSPs) may be available for children with complex trauma in funded Kindergarten programs who are experiences complex and significant learning and developmental barriers or who have needs that impact their inclusion and participation in the program they attend.
FSPs primarily aim to provide responsive, short-term (up to 10 week block) support for an individual child with complex trauma who presents with behaviours of concern. They seek to achieve this through a range of available supports, such as targeted in-situation specialist support that builds on the capacity of early childhood teaching teams to address the specific child's needs through a trauma-informed lens.
FSPs are designed to complement, not duplicate, existing inclusion programs. Other programs in which is may compliment include:
- School Readiness Funding (SRF)
- Kindergarten Inclusion Support (KIS)
- National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Plan
- Commonwealth Inclusion Support Program (ISP)
Step 2 Allied Health can be engaged to support an FSP application by providing a quote to be submitted with the application to 'The Central FSP Team', who will then review and decide eligibility.
