Behaviour Support Practitioner
|
Kat is a Behaviour Support Practitioner at Step 2 Allied Health, bringing an early-career profile with strong academic training and practical exposure in community and behaviour support settings. She holds a Master of Social Work, First-Class Honours in Psychological Science, and a Bachelor of Criminology and Psychological Science (Distinction), all from Deakin University, Geelong.
Through placements with Gunditjmara Aboriginal Co-operative and the Step 2 Allied Health Behaviour Support Team, Kat has developed skills in evidence-informed assessment, report writing and collaborative communication with clients, families and services. Her earlier roles in hospital and aged-care settings strengthened safe practice in high-risk environments, teamwork and reliability, and she has also worked as a casual academic supporting students with structured feedback. Kat’s approach is person-centred, neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed. She focuses on building supportive environments and practical, everyday strategies. She believes in taking a holistic approach to behaviour support, recognising the importance of understanding each person’s unique environment, experiences, and aspirations. Kat aims to support people to build on their strengths and achieve their goals in ways that are meaningful to them. Kat works full-time Monday to Friday and can support individuals aged 4 to 65 across Geelong, the Bellarine, Colac and surrounding areas. |
