Our Support at Home covers the following:

Minor Home Modifications

• Recommendations can include (but not limited to) installing grab rails, hand held shower hoses, taps, widening doorways, and minor entry ramps or pathways. 
• Providing advice on areas of concern regarding the safety of the home. 
• Assessing and recommending home or garden maintenance such as fixing uneven flooring. 
• Providing advice for cognitive strategies within the home environment. 

All work must be completed by a qualified tradesperson with appropriate licensing and insurance as per Victorian Government laws. Building work must be in line with the Building Code Australia and Step 2 Allied Health will refer to Australian Standards for access and mobility (AS1428.1) for all recommendations.

Assistive Technology

• Provision of assistive technology or equipment to help with personal care, meal preparation, transfers in the home, sensory regulation, routine management, or leisure activities.
• Provision of assistive technology to facilitate mobility where appropriate, and when physiotherapy cannot assist with this provision. This may include falls alert devices. 
• Recommendations for assistive devices such to help with accessing a bed, such as profiling beds, bed rails, slide sheets, and transfer aids. 
• Pressure care review and recommendations regarding pressure-relieving aids such as cushions, mattresses, and wearable devices.
