Zac Demopoulos is a seasoned Social Worker and Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner, holding a Bachelor of Social Work with Distinction from Deakin University. An Accredited Member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) with over a decade of experience, he has excelled in various roles within community services and allied health.
Zac began his career at Barwon Child, Youth & Family, progressing through roles in Family Services and Foster Care, including complex case management, foster carer assessment, training, recruitment, and support. From 2019 to 2021, Zac worked with Access Your Supports in multiple roles across their Support Coordination, Therapy and Behaviour Support teams. As Therapy Team Leader and Senior Behaviour Support Practitioner, Zac provided operational and clinical oversight over the breadth of therapy programs, contributing to overall program growth and quality. In 2022, Zac joined genU as their Senior Behaviour Support Practitioner. There, he developed the Behaviour Support Service, creating a comprehensive set of policies, procedures, and practice frameworks, clinically supervising practitioners, and expanding the team from three to eighteen practitioners with a 100% retention rate. He also ensured 100% program compliance across two separate audits. Zac joined Step 2 Allied Health as the Behaviour Support Lead in May 2024 and is responsible for the clinical and operational oversight and management of the service, including clinical supervision, overall service development, strategic planning, team growth, and program compliance. Zac is known for his effective leadership, team and service development, clinical aptitude, and genuine, holistic approach to care. Zac also co-founded the Barwon Social Work Practice Group, serving as Convenor from 2014 to 2021. Zac has many family members and friends with various disabilities and has seen first hand the remarkable achievements anyone can make with the right love, care, support, and accommodations. Zac has two young children, Theo and Ruby, with his wife, Eliza. He most enjoys spending time with his family and friends, going on family adventures, reading books, and watching the sun rise over Ocean Grove's main beach. |
