Chief Operating Officer

Zac Demopoulos is the Chief Operating Officer at Step 2 Allied Health. He joined the organisation in 2024 as Behaviour Support Lead, where he established and scaled the Behaviour Support service from the ground up.

Zac is a seasoned Social Worker with over a decade of experience across community services, disability, and allied health. He holds a Bachelor of Social Work (Distinction) from Deakin University, is an Accredited Member of the Australian Association of Social Workers, and is a registered Advanced Behaviour Support Practitioner. His career has spanned direct care, case management, clinical practice, supervision, and senior leadership.

In his time leading Behaviour Support at Step 2, Zac oversaw clinical governance and compliance, led practitioner supervision and capability development, and built the frameworks and quality processes that underpin the service today. Across his roles he has developed strong skills in service development, clinical and operational governance, compliance and audit readiness, workforce capability, restrictive practice reduction, and operational leadership.

Zac's approach is grounded in a genuine commitment to human rights and quality care for people. He leads with compassion and clarity, and believes that investing in people and practice infrastructure is what makes sustainable, excellent services possible.

Based in Geelong, Zac works full time supporting Step 2's operations across the Barwon region and beyond. Outside of work, he enjoys family adventures with his wife and two young children, and is an avid learner.
